What is La Textura BHA Smoothing Complex?

It is a specially formulated revitalizing and rejuvenating  treatment that smoothes all textures of hair without the use of harsh chemicals.  This advanced formula restores and restructures hair by infusing a special blend of botanicals from the rain forest along with bio-restore amino acids.  The hair is restored from the inside out and has a protective shield attached to the cuticle.

Who is the best candidate for this treatment? 

Someone who lives a very active and on the go lifestyle. This treatment elongates the curl and creates frizz free hair, however if you love wearing your hair super-curly, it is not the treatment for you. The treatment doesn’t straighten the curl, but it certainly won’t be as tight.

What results can be expected after the treatment?

The hair will be more manageable and take much less time to dry.  It will be noticeably smoother, silkier and shiny, adding body as well as a lengthened look.

Can hair be colored before the treatment?

Yes!  A great time to have the treatment done would be directly after permanent color, semi-permanent color or highlights.  The treatment will seal and extend the life of the color. Leaving hair lively and vibrant.  However, for demi-gloss or toners, the color should be applied 3-5 days after the treatment for optimal results.  Color treated hair will change slightly by 2 shades. This treatment is not recommended for 60% or more grey hair.

How much time should be allowed for each client?

Time should be determined on an individual basis. It is recommended that you screen each client by asking about their hair length, type and texture. Please allow at least 90 minutes for the process.

How many days after the treatment before the hair can be shampooed?

Hair is shampooed during treatment; follow your normal shampoo regiment.  The only restriction is to stay away from salt water.  We recommend a filtration system which can be attached to your shower head to eliminate salt at the source.

What kind of shampoo, conditioner and styling product should be used?

Using the bio-hydrating shampoo, bio-restore masque, and amino elixir will ensure the longevity of the smoother. (Sulfate Free products only).

Can the treatment be done on chemically treated, previously relaxed or straightened hair?

Yes!  If you are continuing your relaxer service, you must get it done before the LaTextura Smoothing System. If your hair is in a natural state this treatment does not make your hair straight. It will be manageable, smooth and silky. The treatment helps with the transition period while you are growing out of the relaxer.

Does well water and/or water softeners affect the treatment?

Yes, if either contains salt. However it may have a minimal effect on the treatment. We recommend a filtration system which can be attached to your shower head to eliminate salt at the source.

How often can the treatment be done?

The treatment can be done as often as every 6-8 weeks.

Is the re-application of the treatment done on the entire head or just on the new growth?

The re-application should be focused on the new growth and smoothed through the entire head as the bio-restore can only improve, not harm the hair. 

How long will the treatment last?

The treatment fades out over a period of 10-12 weeks depending on lifestyle, maintenance and provided the client follows all after care instructions. Multiple treatments will impact the longevity and smoothness of the hair.   

Should the hair be cut before or after the treatment?

We recommend that the hair be cut after the treatment, as the hair will elongate and the ends will be uneven.
